This Privacy Policy describes how Parva Kala (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Android application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

1. Information We Collect

Parva Kala collects minimal information necessary to provide accurate Panchanga and Parva Kala calculations:

• Location data — Your device location (latitude and longitude) is used solely to calculate accurate sunrise times, Panchanga, and Parva Kala timings for your city. Location is never stored on our servers.
• Manually selected city — If you choose a city manually from our database, this selection is stored locally on your device only.
• Subscription status — If you purchase a subscription, Google Play processes the payment. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status, not any payment card details.
• Usage data — Basic anonymous usage statistics may be collected through Expo/EAS services to help us improve the app.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or personal identity
• We do not collect payment or billing information (handled entirely by Google Play)
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
• We do not track your activity across other apps or websites
• We do not store your location on any server

3. How We Use Information

• Location coordinates are used in real-time to calculate sunrise, sunset, Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, and Parva Kala timings
• Selected city is stored locally to remember your preference between sessions
• Subscription status is used to determine which features are accessible to you

4. Data Storage

All calculations are performed entirely on your device. The city database (68,000+ cities worldwide) is bundled within the app and stored locally on your device. No Panchanga or Parva Kala calculation data is transmitted to any server.

Your city preference and subscription access state are stored locally using Android’s secure local storage (AsyncStorage). This data never leaves your device.

5. Third-Party Services

Parva Kala uses the following third-party services:

• Google Play Billing — For processing subscription payments. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
• Expo / EAS — For app building and delivery. Subject to Expo’s Privacy Policy.

We do not integrate any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or social media trackers.

6. Permissions

The app requests the following Android permissions:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — To determine your city for accurate astronomical calculations. You may deny this permission and select your city manually.
• INTERNET — Required only for subscription verification with Google Play.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — To send Parva Kala reminders (optional, you may disable this).

7. Children’s Privacy

Parva Kala is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

8. Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no server-side data to retain or delete. Your local app data (city preference, usage counts) is deleted when you uninstall the app.

9. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Clear app data at any time through Android Settings
• Revoke location permission at any time through Android Settings
• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data
• Manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
